About the design: Metamorphosis is what every living thing experience along it's life's journey. In this piece the artist wanted to capture how the light of the Sun changes the landscape as it makes its way over the mountains of Colorado. The butterfly wing detailing in the sky is of the sunrise and the background during the height of the day. The feminine dotwork above the butterfly is of the Sun and below the flowers with embellishments.
The artist chose to incorporate the mountains above Twin lakes as it's one of her favorite places in Colorado AND the two mountains fit the symmetry of the butterfly wings perfectly. Flowers depicted in the painting are Paintbrush, Old Man of the Mountain, Lupin, Daisy, and Golden Ragwort.
