About the Artist

Cherie Smittle is a Colorado artist whose style is realistic and detail oriented with a hint of playfulness (hide-and-seek). Her art revolves around Colorado mountains and animals, multisports (skiing, running, cycling, swimming, rock climbing, etc.), and occasionally people.

To keep her art fresh, she is constantly exploring new techniques. Lately she has been painting custom apparel to include shoes, hats, jackets and purses. However, her preferred mediums include: Acrylic paint, Oil on Canvas, and Wood for pyrography (wood burning), and
digital art using her iPad.

Her site offers unique designs on a variety of materials to include fine art paper, wood, vinyl stickers, clothing to name a few.

The artist enjoys living a life less ordinary.  As an adventurer and self-professed workaholic, when not traveling, she calls the mountains of Colorado home. Finding a calm in the middle of the storm through her Art.

Cherie’s muse is first and foremost her husband. Being an adventurer, she also draws inspiration from the landscapes, adventure sports that she enjoys, famous women she finds alluring/interesting, flora and fauna. She finds that through art she is able to relive her experience while adding her unique perspective.  When she was a little girl her grandmother ordered her the Highlights magazines, she always loved hunting for the hidden items in the art.  This inspired her to add hidden things into her own artwork.  She hopes you enjoy her creations and have fun hunting for the “Easter Eggs”.
