Floral Embrace completed in 2020 by artist Cherie L. Smittle featuring Marilyn Monroe embraced by roses wearing the Moon of Baroda Diamond.
Marilyn Monroe is famous for her seductive roles, seducing you with her look and even the way she walks. No other star has inspired such a range of emotions from lust, envy, to remorse and even pity.
The artist has woven some of those emotions into the piece ... her seductive look, beautiful but dangerous roses caress her body and the envy evoking one-of-a-kind Moon of Baroda.
This piece is an exploration of the stipple/dotwork style. Choosing to do this piece completely with dots (except for the background of the roses done in watercolor) was a unexpected tedious but soothing 8 month journey.
